Julie Lewin
CEO + MEDICAL INTUITIVE + MEDITATION TEACHER
+ STRESS MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT + AUTHOR
In today’s high-pressure corporate world, high achievers like Julie Lewin are often at the greatest risk of burnout. Julie, the CEO of Bastian Wolf Consulting, had a highly successful career spanning three decades across various industries.
Yet, despite her accomplishments, she found herself cycling through burnout, not once, but multiple times. Her story serves as a powerful reminder that even the most successful individuals are not immune to burnout, but it also provides a roadmap to recovery and sustainable success.
Julie Lewin, a dedicated professional, always strived to be the best at her job. With her innovative, creative, and proactive mindset, she thrived in her roles across various sectors including mining, accounting, legal, town planning, architecture, university, and finance. Her adaptability and excellence, however, led to increasing responsibilities, escalating stress levels, and ultimately, burnout.
Her story is not uncommon among high achievers. With a rescuer mindset, the propensity to over-give, and a deep-seated need to feel needed, Julie, like many others, found herself without boundaries, unable to say no, and blind to the warning signs of impending burnout. What stood out was her resilience. Each time she burnt out, she would leave, rebuild her health, and start again, taking lessons from each episode.
Julie’s experience with burnout was a wake-up call. During one particularly intense period, she was so depleted that she couldn’t muster the energy to go to work. This physical and emotional exhaustion led her to seek help from an acupuncturist, who warned her that her “qi energy” was non-existent. This was her first real encounter with the concept of burnout, and the beginning of her journey towards understanding and overcoming it.
At the age of 50, Julie decided to switch careers and become a copywriter for online entrepreneurs. While she enjoyed writing, the stress of proving herself in a new career field, coupled with her perfectionist tendencies, led her once again down the path of burnout. However, this time, she began to recognize the signs.
One of the most significant turning points in Julie’s life came when she appeared on the TV show “The Extraordinary,” showcasing her medical intuition abilities. The overwhelming response from viewers seeking her help was a profound experience, but it also led to an immense pressure that took a toll on her health.
One day she had no energy to do anything, not even eat. At 40 years old, she was diagnosed with cancer. Facing this critical juncture, she asked God for guidance, and the answer came clear as day: meditate for an hour in the morning and an hour at night. Along with her medical treatment, she followed this advice religiously.
At the time, she didn’t realise that this dedicated meditation practice was helping her body return to homeostasis – the relaxation state necessary for healing. Today, she understands this truth deeply.
This period of her life taught her the importance of balance, of taking care of oneself while helping others, and of the incredible power of the mind-body connection. As a corporate stress management consultant, she now dedicates herself to sharing these lessons, helping others navigate their stresses while promoting wellness and resilience.
Today, as the CEO of Bastian Wolf Consulting, Julie uses her experiences with burnout to help high achievers avoid the same pitfalls. She understands that like computers, human bodies need to be shut down and restarted to maintain performance. She is dedicated to helping the creative industry discover a healthier, more sustainable approach to work.
Julie’s journey is a testament to the power of resilience, self-care, and the importance of recognizing and addressing burnout. It is a testament to her mission of transforming workplaces into environments where employees are supported, encouraged, and capable of doing their best work without sacrificing their well-being.

Tash Lewin
CREATIVE DIRECTOR + STRESS MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT
+ GRAPHIC DESIGNER + CURRICULUM DEVELOPER
If you’ve ever felt the pressure of being a high achiever, you’re not alone. Tash Lewin, a truly remarkable individual, knows the highs and lows of this lifestyle all too well. Her story serves as a stark reminder of the hidden cost of relentless achievement and the urgent need for burnout prevention.
Tash is no stranger to hard work. She completed a three-year degree in just two years, immersing herself in her studies from dawn to dusk, sometimes pulling all-nighters. Her relentless drive for excellence saw her at the campus from 9am to 9pm. Fuelled by a passion for learning and a desire to be the best, Tash excelled academically. But this came at a high price – she ended up in the hospital multiple times during her studies, the first signs of an impending crisis.
Upon graduation, she started working at the same university. Here was a job she loved more than anything she had done before, but her burning passion soon turned into literal burnout. Despite pouring her heart and soul into her work, she found herself used up, worn out, and back in the hospital.
After nearly four years, the love she had for her job had evaporated. She had nothing left to give. But even then, she didn’t stop. A new opportunity beckoned – she was headhunted to write a diploma of graphic design. Tash thought a change in job would solve her problems. Unfortunately, it was no better.
Even amidst this turmoil, Tash’s entrepreneurial spirit shone through. She started a side business while working full-time, a venture that became so successful she was able to run it full-time. Which she did, alongside her full time job. She didn’t know it yet, but her burnout was still lurking in the shadows, waiting for the right moment to strike.
And strike it did. After her contract ended, she didn’t look for a new job, her business was profitable enough to sustain her. However, when she no longer had to go into work every day, her body finally rebelled in the worst way. All the niggling symptoms she had put up with or thought of as normal, caused her body to crash and burn. She found herself unable to give anything to her business, eventually leading to the painful decision of having to sell it.
In retrospect, Tash realizes that she was in the grips of severe burnout. Despite suffering from almost daily panic attacks, she didn’t fully comprehend what was happening. She attempted to start another business with a friend, but both of them were grappling with their own burnout and it never really took off the ground.
Thanks to her understanding husband and the unexpected respite offered by the Covid-19 pandemic, Tash finally found the time and space she needed to begin her recovery journey. It was a tough battle, but today, having emerged on the other side, she holds a Stress Management qualification and a newfound understanding of her burnout journey.
Tash’s experience has sparked a mission. She wants to help other high achievers avoid the path she had to tread. She wants to ensure that no one has to leave a job they love because of burnout.
